A Baby with a Cause

Well, my baby is an animal rights activist. I have never been huge on meat myself, but I haven't cut it out of my diet completely... until now. My baby is only the size of a jumbo shrimp and he/she is already manipulating me and imposing it's views and practices on me ;). At least this baby has a cause that he/she believes in. You have to admire that. So if anyone has any good vegetarian recipes that don't include tofu (I've tried to like it, I really have), I'd really appreciate the help.

So did I totally miss the post that said you were pregnant? Or am I just reading into this something that is not true?

BTW: I love all your fun and adventerous posts. You guys are having so much fun and I envy you!

Yes, I don't think you did the official blog announcement. But since I was already privy, I am not currently shocked.

I say fu-ey to tofu! Why try to replace meat when you're a vegetarian? Just eat dishes rich in veggies and beans.

Ok, so I'm no help on the vegetarian recipe front. Sorry :(

Meat is gross, I feel your fetus and I will get along just peachy.

Hey Congratulations, this is exciting news! (the baby part of course). I have a vegetable lasagne recipe if you're interested :)

I really am your resource on the vegetarian recipes (even without tofu). Email me if you'd like the recipes for my favorite black bean stuffed bell peppers, cashew coconut curry, falafel, or spicy tomato pasta.

There are plenty of other sources of protein than meat. I eat lots of: beans of all kinds, eggs, some dairy, quinoa, whole grains (also rich in protein), and nuts of every kind. Not to mention the soy based fake meat in the grocery store. The soy-sage and veggie grounds are my fave.

Marie: You didn't miss a post. I just never officially made the announcement. It's true. There is a baby bird on the way.

Kirsten: I knew I could count on you. I would love any recipes you have. I'm still quite limited on what I can stomach, so the lighter the better. Thanks.

I love that your baby is already politically active... that means it's really YOUR child! I hope that you are feeling better soon however!

Also, Nat, I have a favor to ask of you or if not you, your mother (sometimes I put things off on my Mom when i dont want to do them myself :) So, if you get a min... I have started a flower business and am working on getting a website put together. I am looking for a few people to write a little "testimonial" (as my website designer calls them) on my work... so I was wondering if you could write a little something for me. It doesn't have to be long (a few sentences or short paragraph is great!) and please BE HONEST. Maybe just say something about what you liked or really remember or whatever would be awesome. Let me know if you'd be comfortable doing that! Thanks!
